How did you end up in the Netherlands?
I came here following my heart. I met my partner just before covid. He is from The Hague. Then lockdown happened and everybody needed to make a decision about where they wanted to be and my son and I decided to move to the Netherlands. I love living in the Netherlands. I think biking is the best way to travel. The Netherlands is quite a special place where society and services in general work well, it is safe and fun and there is always lots to do. My son is ten and he loves it here as well.
Favourite restaurant
It is called ‘ñ’. It is a tiny restaurant in The Hague, really simple and delicious with one chef and he luckily just won a Michelin star!

Favourite museum
Gosh, there are a lot of really good ones, but I would say het Kunstmusem Den Haag – formerly called the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag. Designed by the architect Berlage. I feel that the architect designed it really for people to look at art.

Most beautiful place in the Netherlands
One of my favourite is the naturist beach at strandslag 8 in The Hague, one of the last few naturist beaches that is left. We are very proud of it and the dunes are very protected there and it is a very special place to have a swim.
A must-see in the Botswana
If you go to Gaborone, the capital of Botswana and you are looking for an authentic restaurant and night life experience, you should definitely go to the Bull and Bush. This place is everyone’s first going out experience when you are young and then a place to hang out and chill when you get older. It has a playground and a restaurant where families can go in the day and eat and play and barbeque, and at night there is a dj and it becomes more like some sort of club, it is a located on a dusty back road, and feels like a safari chalet. It is very cool.

Favourite Dutch word
I think I say ‘inderdaad’ a lot. It is a really nice word to create connection or a really nice sense of agreement… a way to say ‘yes’, and ‘I agree’, and ‘great point’, all in one.
