Since 2011, NedLes has provided Dutch courses to employees of the Dutch branch of the Turkish Garanti Bank. The language of communication within the bank is Turkish and English. Although the bank’s employees don’t need Dutch in order to carry out their tasks, Garanti Bank sees it as part of its responsibility as good employer to give employees the opportunity to learn the language of the country in which they work. Some employees only want to learn enough Dutch to be able to order a beer, have basic social conversations and understand messages broadcasted in public transport locations. Other employees have Dutch partners or families and would like to exceed the level of basic conversations and improve their fluency. And some want to acquire the Dutch nationality and need to meet civic integration requirements. To cater to the diverse needs of the learners, we have formed various groups, from beginners to advanced and beyond.

Most courses consist of 10 lessons of 1.5 hours each and are taught weekly, after working hours. The maximum number of participants per group is 12.
