Languages and cultures have always fascinated me. I used to dream about distant countries and at the age of nine I started reading English books in the library. In high school, French, English and Dutch were my favorite subjects, but I always had the dream of learning the Spanish language.
At the age of 24 I went to Spain for a few months to study Spanish. 12 years later, I still live here.
I have been teaching as an NT2 teacher for several years, mainly to children. But a few years ago I started teaching adults as well. I like that I can share my passion for learning new languages with my students. And also to share my experience as a foreigner in another country. I know what it’s like to build a new life in a country where you don’t speak the language yet and where you have to get used to new traditions and customs. Integrating into a new culture brings many beautiful, but also intense experiences. As a teacher, I spend time on this in my classes.
When I’m not working as an NT2 teacher, I’m still surrounded by languages. I speak Spanish with my husband and we are raising our children bilingually. You can also find me in nature with my dogs, I like to read and I am active with yoga.
