Josephine was born in Amsterdam and studied Dutch at the University of Amsterdam. She was a project assistant at various photo institutes in Rotterdam and worked as a freelance journalist.
In 2005 she emigrated to central Portugal. She studied Portuguese at the University of Coimbra.
She experienced first-hand that learning another language is an immersion in another culture. That is an enormous enrichment, which she also wishes her students. Her experiences are an extra incentive to make students feel at home in the Netherlands.
She has been teaching as a certified teacher since 2016. She believes it is important that the students learn not only from her, but also from each other. Moreover, she also learns from her students!
