Michiel Hanrath has been teaching Dutch to non-native speakers for over 10 years now and has not regretted it for a single day. To Michiel, teaching is a two-way street. It’s not only about sharing his knowledge; he learns a great deal from his students as well. Michiel wants his students to become accustomed to speaking Dutch in class and feel comfortable and have fun learning.
Michiel has worked for many language schools but makes no secret that NedLes is his favourite. The atmosphere at NedLes is great, the students are motivated and the quality of teaching is high.
Besides being a teacher, Michiel is also a writer. He started out with writing poetry and novels. For the past 25 years, he has worked as a co-writer on various Dutch drama series. Outside of work, Michiel is a water sports fanatic and rows, swims and sails as much as he can. He also likes playing tennis, reading, walking, and he plays a bit of piano occasionally for his own enjoyment.
